Helping nonprofit leaders move from chaos to clarity
Explore, Challenge, Transform
Every strong organization starts with a solid foundation - one built on clarity, confidence, and purpose. At Mika Khan Consulting, we help nonprofits move from chaos to clarity by strengthening the systems, people, and culture that bring their missions to life.
What do I do?
One goal I've always had in the work I do, is to break negative cycles for those who don't have the ability to do so alone. I believe that in order to break these cycles two things are needed: 1. to shift a person's mentality about their situation, so that they believe they are capable of change, and 2. to provide the resources or tools needed to overcome barriers that arise. Without both pieces, people are then vulnerable to the gravitational pull of these cycles, which lead back to square one.
This work is extremely personal to me. As an individual that has experienced the nonprofit challenges of burnout, poor systems, and lack of overall capacity, I understand from a ground level how that overwhelm impacts an organization and its most valuable form of capital - its people. I believe workplaces can be a source of belonging and purpose, and I strive to keep employees motivated and connected to their work through helping to create sustainable systems that support them.

Mika Khan
My passion for social change is deeply personal and began long before my professional career. In college, while studying psychology with a focus on ethnic studies and criminal justice, I realized that our country's systems disproportionately affect communities of color. This early understanding fueled a desire to not just serve, but to change the system itself.
